Transportation

Interstate 70 bisects the county's northeastern section. Both Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs Airport are only 45 minutes away. U.S. Highway 24 runs from the county's east-central section to Colorado Springs. Colorado 86 connects two interstates, I-70 and I-25, and is still the straightest route from the Kansas border to Denver's southern outskirts.

Elbert County is also serviced by the Union Pacific Railroad.
